It might need to be done in stages as we save the money, though. Good to know about fridges being easy to move. I actually hadn't even thought about the issue with the water line! Counters will probably be something boring like a slate gray...but I'm thinking something more fun for the wood on the island and maybe even for the wall of cabinets around the fridge.Gretchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10081092234118387690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3666263925017036906.post-49734406454027061472013-07-19T16:45:46.819-04:002013-07-19T16:45:46.819-04:00It's hard to get motivated when you're not...It's hard to get motivated when you're not sure something will be permanent! The island sounds like it will be a nice focal point and I like the idea for the wall of cabinets and fridge.

We did a temporary kitchen reno when we first moved into our place 2 years ago since we were/are contemplating an addition in a few years and the kitchen may have to be all torn out. Our kitchen, however, is still not completely finished. Maybe I'll get it done just before I have to change it all again or maybe you've inspired me to get back to work on it. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3666263925017036906.post-14502825957523133262013-07-17T12:49:10.977-04:002013-07-17T12:49:10.977-04:00Ok, I "think" I can picture your layout ...Ok, I "think" I can picture your layout in here now. I think your plans sound fabulous! Even if you don't end up pushing the wall out, I would imagine you could still do the rest of it?

We moved our fridge and that was actually much less of a deal than I thought because water lines are pretty easy to move. Moving the ovens was a bit more involved because we needed new high power lines coming in from the garage #patchworkinthegarageceiling

The island sounds dreamy. I think it will add such a visual impact to your space. I am excited to see what color counters you are considering :)
Katja @ Shift Ctrl Arthttp://shiftctrlart.comnoreply@blogger.com
